Registration

All student registrations (both new and returning) must be completed through the district’s Central Registration Center.  Using the online pre-registration portal and providing the required documentation will help to expedite the student’s enrollment to school.  All registrations must be finalized at the Central Registration Center.  Please see the address, hours of operation, and contact information shown below to schedule a final registration appointment.

Dawson County Residents:  Student Registration for NEW or PREVIOUSLY WITHDRAWN students in grades K-12, is now available for the 2018-2019 school year (8/2/2018-5/24/2019).  After submitting  your online registration, please call to schedule an appointment.

NOTE:  The link below is only for the current school year 2018-2019 and can not be used to submit for the 2019-2020 school year.  It is also only for grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, no Pre-K or Pre-School submissions will be accepted on this link.

Non-Resident Students:  Parents/students who do not live in Dawson County and are applying for the first time to the Dawson County School System for the 2019-2020 school year, can submit their application from April 15 to May 10, 2019.  No applications will be accepted after May 10, 2019.  Please complete the Non-Resident Application.  Non-Resident K-5 Application 19-20.pdf

Kindergarten
Students entering a Georgia public school for the first time must be age five on or before September 1 to enter Kindergarten.  GADOE New-Student-Requirements
                                                         

Required Documents for School Enrollment

  • Birth Certificate
    • Original for Pre-K, Kindergarten, & 1st Grade.
    • Certified copy for all other grades.
  • Georgia Immunization Form and Vision, Hearing, and Dental Certificates
    • These forms may be obtained from your pediatrician or the local Department of Public Health.  (*NOTE:  Immunization forms from other states must be transferred to Georgia forms.)
  • Proof of Residency
    • Proof of residency is required for all new enrollees, any change of address, and at each grade span (K, 6th, 8th, & 10th).  Click here for more information: Enrollment Residency Policy.pdf
  • Social Security Number
    • In accordance with Georgia law, a social security number will be requested for each enrolling student at the time of initial enrollment. Parents may choose not to provide a social security number by signing a written waiver.
